Milk Shakes at South Coast Plaza

An anonymous reader asks a question about a store in South Coast Plaza...

Does anybody remember the name of the health food store/restaurant/shake bar at South Coast Plaza back in the 70s? It was pink and they made shakes out of ice cream and ice milk. I'm racking my brain trying to remember the name of it. It was near the carousel area in the section that goes towards Nordstrom. Thank you.

  2. It was a Lindberg Nutrition Shoppe. You were able to enter the store straight from the parking lot. I used to use this entrance to enter the mall itself.

  3. It was Lindberg or Lindberg's. I used to go there with my mom to get fresh carrot and papaya juice there back in the 70s. The juice came in little paper cones served in aluminum holders. Way before their time!

  4. Their slogan was "(stay?) in the pink". Burgers were on whole wheat buns. (thanks for the reviews as I too was trying to recall the name, it was a special place from my mom and I to go to, but our memories couldn't recall the name)

  5. For years I thought Linberg nutrition had gone out of business. Then one day my job took me to Torrance and what do I find but a Lindberg Nutrition in Hawthorne Blvd. Since that time I have also found one in Manhattan Beach.
