I didn't attend Santa Ana High School, but many readers of OCThen have. I wanted to create this post as a place where all SAHS alumni can post their memories of attending the oldest high school in Orange County.Labels: Santa-Ana-High-School
I attended SAH in my sophmore year 1963-64. It truely was a beauiful old spanish school. I remember the Senior lawn especialy since only Seniors could eat lunch there and loved to tease us lower classmen. I also attended SAVH in 1964 which did not compare to SAH in any way.I used to ditch SAVA and walk across town to visit my old classmates and my fiancee at SAH. My most memorable memory was the day Kennedy was assianate 12-22-63 and the school set up a big TV in the auditorium, all us girls were crying hystericaly and could not go back to our typing class. I have long since left Santa Ana but the memories of school and after were the best teenage years any teenager could ever had.

I attended Santa Ana High in its football "heyday". We actually went to AAAA CIF Championships in my junior year lost to Anaheim who we had beaten 28-0 during the regular season. We were missing a running back by the name of Jack Meier for the championship game in Angel Stadium. Great place to grow up in and relatively safe during those years. Many places to go. Sunshine, Lolipops and rainbows everywhere....

I found about the reunion on a Classmates.com email ad. I would love to see some of my classmates from '64-'68. I still live in the OC and would live no place else. My kids get a kick out of my stories of the good ole' days in beautiful and safe S.A. Love Esquires and Debs with Mr. Anderson and Coach Baldwin and the 68' Saints at Angel Stadium!

I went to Santa Ana High School in 1999. my freshmen, softmore, and senior years. I can say that they were, like, some of my best years of my life. Had some of my best friends, and one of my bery, best of my teachers. I unfortunatley, did´nt bought my yearbook 2000. I wish I did. I regret not buying it.

My father, Clem Scheve, graduated from Santa High School in 1947 (at war's end) and my mom graduated in
1946 I believe - her name was Mary Ellen Luken. She was a lovely, funny redhead and we lost her to cancer in 1970. Anyone remember Dorothy, Joanne or Fran or Alfred Scheve?....how about Chuck or Marvin Luken....my dad moved out here in 1941 and lived on Edinger in a little farm across the street from a bean field.....

I am a member of the SAHS class of 77 I played football and track for the Saints. I am a Assistant Varsity football coach for Valley the cross town rival. We had a 2year series with the Saints but SAHS broke the contract and now they do not have a shot at the Isacc Curtis Bell which is symbol for the public schools city football championship too bad

Man...Santa Ana this is a place that i am never gonna forget. The feeling you get when you walk in those green gates in the morning, the feeling you get when you go outside and you say I AM A SAINT!! That is unforgetable. Those feelings are multyplied when you put on the Santa Ana Saints jersey of any sport. For me it is putting on the football jersey and wearing it proudly.I am glad that i had the chance to attend my four years at the best high school in orange county.
GO!!! MIGHTY SAINTS!!!!!

I went to santa ana high, from 84-88 Class of 88. i am sorry to say but that was the best crusing school ever!!!! We had the best friday DJ's and the best parties. I saw some of your other stories about Santa Ana Valley, it was only by rumors that schools get a bad name. Santa Ana had a bad reputation too. i don't know why because both schools were good schools.

I have great memories of growing up in S.A. in the "good ole days". I graduated in '68 and remember my girlfriends Jan P. (whose Mom had the first '66 Mustang--so cool), Becky M., Terri B. Nancy Mc.,Sara H., and my boyfriend John S. I'd love to know what happened to everyone-especially the Debs & Esq. Terri S.

Back in the days yah santa ana high was the team to beat. But now no one cares about santa ana high or any of the high schools in the city for that matter unless your from mater dei. pretty sad kids now a days are lazy and have no heart. now a days the motto "there is no i in team" doesn't exist. more like "it's all about me" an individual. sad but true....
