I remember all of those stores. My husband and I were just talking about Woolworth's and their grilled hot dogs. Was it in JC Penney's or right next to it? The bank was next door to the Jolly Roger, and there was a stereo store close as well. There was a shoe repair store and Nick's! Nick's had the best meatball and sausage sandwiches. I remember the Penney's, a Helen Grace candy store, a women's clothing store called something like Windsor? I loved Helen Grace. We used to get suckers with a flower design in the center, and they had these flat yellow, pink & green candies with soft mint filling that were used sometimes in weddings. If I remember correctly, the stores had both front and back entrances, and maybe there was another row of shops behind the front ones. When I lived in L.A. there was a very similar shopping center that was laid out that way, it still had an old Newberry's store into the 90's. I miss those old shopping centers & feel kind of sad when I see the big box stores like Home Depot in Costa Mesa now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10397898.post-51064527871068916502010-05-16T14:12:35.612-07:002010-05-16T14:12:35.612-07:00In the 50's, there was a Drive Inn in Costa Me...In the 50's, there was a Drive Inn in Costa Mesa that all the kids went to. I think for a little while they had a cart at the OC Swapmeet at the Orange County Fairgrounds on Sat and Sun. I grew up down the street from the Harbor Shopping Plaza off of Harbor and Fair in College Park ( cinderella track homes) from 73' to 84' and my mother worked at the JC Penny's there for 30 years. They used to have a parade down Harbor Blvd. every year and the carnival and rides were set up in the harbor plaza parking lot. My favorite attraction at Harbor Plaza shopping center was The Original Chuck E Cheese's that opened in 80, 81, 82 ? , It was only 2nd best to going to Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm. The one that is there now sucks. The thrifty used to sell square shaped scoops of ice cream on cones for .10 cents!!!! When I moved back to Costa Misery in 91' everything had turned to rot at the plaza except for Sammy's.James Hamblyhttp://myspace.com/scottspridenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10397898.post-16075187500925258712009-09-14T20:49:15.660-07:002009-09-14T20:49:15.660-07:00Hi ,

It’s really good to know about the real estate and home decoration and renovation in detail. Our home’s roof is what protects us from all the elements. Your entire home and possessions are at risk with a roof that is in bad shape. Water leaks from snow and ice can do some serious damage to the entire structure of the building. Left in disrepair the cost of having the damage repaired will only grow over time. If you call a qualified Phoenix roofer as soon as you notice a problem you’ll actually be saving money by preventing further damage.

No matter what type of roof you have, replacing it can be a major expense. The materials are only a fraction of the total you will pay for a new roof. The largest single expense will be in the labor costs of the Phoenix roofer labor. Roofing is a profession requiring many skills including framing construction, mathematics and carpentry. Locating a roofer is not the hard part. You might meet with a few obstacles however, as you seek a competent Phoenix roofer.

Thanks,
- Sarah ClarkSarah Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17911777080155017090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10397898.post-5320202408759228372009-09-14T04:03:36.503-07:002009-09-14T04:03:36.503-07:00Hi ,

It’s really good to know about the real estate and home decoration and renovation in detail. A beautifully groomed lawn and garden are in the dreams of most homeowners and whether their property is spacious or a postage stamp, getting that look they desire is going to require a big investment of time and labor intensive work, so a good alternative is hiring a reliable San Jose Landscaping company. Not only will San Jose landscaping company free up your time and save your back but a well landscaped property can actually increase the value of your home.

Landscaping is a big business and a professionally landscaped property can cost thousands. You need to use caution since anyone with a truck, a couple of hedges and a mower can call themselves a landscaping company.

Thanks,
-Sarah ClarkSarah Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17911777080155017090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10397898.post-87044547307398436052009-09-14T03:27:45.243-07:002009-09-14T03:27:45.243-07:00Hi,

It seems that home remodeling has become one of America's favorite pastimes. While the housing market may be experiencing a temporary downturn, Lebanon remodeling projects continue to hold steady simply because many Lebanon home owners have decided to stay put in their current homes, opting to upgrade rather than move.
The average home is about 33 years old and with the nation's aging housing stock, Lebanon remodeling projects such as replacing windows and roofs are an ongoing necessity. But older home or new, Lebanon homeowners are adding, expanding, reconfiguring, and remodeling their homes more than ever.Lebanon remodeling is a big part of over 25 million U.S. homeowners undertaking some sort of home improvement project annually. Whether it's the addition of a new room, completely remodeling an existing interior design, or upgrading a kitchen, major remodeling projects now make up a considerable portion of homeowner improvement investment dollars.

Thanks,
- Andrew MoralesUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15046463403387496585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10397898.post-87219575119928607052009-08-11T16:06:09.680-07:002009-08-11T16:06:09.680-07:00Oh my god...
