In 1889, the California Legislature approved the formation of a new county, and gave rise to what would one day become among the most desired places all of the United States to live, work and play. Yet the history of the land goes back much further, back to the days of the mission era, and beyond to the Indian tribes who settled here. Today, Orange County is the epitome of the "melting pot", with people flocking from all parts of the United States and other parts of the world to find themselves a better standard of living.

OCThen.com hopes to establish an online resource of historical materials and references to further educate the people who live in California's finest county.

OCThen.com maintains a staff of people to operate the website and develop new content. However, OCThen.com relies on the people of Orange County, particularly those with a keen interest in local history to contribute the bulk of its material.

How is OCThen.com Funded?

OCThen.com is privately owned, and self-funded. At this time, funding comes almost entirely out of the pockets of its owners. The goal is to raise revenue through advertising sales.
